They are so worried about having a drink they do not think about the consequences. They may be too drunk to realize what they are doing
Living with someone who has a drink problem is damaging, upsetting and destructive. It’s not OK at all and you shouldn’t have to put up with it.
It also means that by accepting it you’re helping him perpetuate the problem and realistically it doesn’t sound like a healthy situation for him either.
