HDTV (High Definition Television)

Is new television technology that gives you a picture and sound quality that is as close to life as possible. It gives you up to ten times more picture detail than analog. It also gives you a larger viewing area as you can see from the television on the right. With this, you can view movies as the were meant to be viewed and it will add a new dimension to regular TV. Terrestrial television broadcasters have been slow to change to HDTV and satellite companies are leading the way in the progression of this technology.

How do I get HDTV?

First order satellite television for the best selection of digital programming. This just gets you the signal however. You will need a television capable of displaying HDTV. Your standard old technology TV will not. Don’t think that you can just hook up an HDTV satellite to your old Analog TV set and be done with it. Luckily however, as the technology develops, the prices come down. It used to cost thousands of dollars for a bottom of the line HDTV. Now you can shop around and find HDTV’s starting at around 800 – 1500 euro.
