GPT 4 is an advanced version of artificial intelligence

GPT 4.

Powerful AI bot, GPT-4 — and admits it’s so advanced it could be ‘harmful’. The bot can now accept inputs in the form of images as well as text, but still outputs its answers in text, meaning it can offer detailed descriptions of images.

GPT 4?

If asked, ‘What’s funny about this image?’ GPT-4 will reply. Among other things, it can instantly calculate people’s tax liability and can pass the Uniform Bar Exam.

OpenAI said in a blog post:

‘We’ve created GPT-4, the latest milestone in OpenAI’s effort in scaling up deep learning. GPT is a large multimodal model (accepting image and text inputs, emitting text outputs) that, while less capable than humans in many real-world scenarios, exhibits human-level performance on various professional and academic benchmarks.

The company warned that the model is still prone to ‘hallucinating’ inaccurate facts – and can be persuaded to output false or harmful content.

It can now pass the legal exams with results in the top 10 pecent (GPT-3, which previously powered ChatGPT, could pass the exams, but with results in the bottom 10 percent).

GPT-4 is available now to subscribers via ChatGPT: free users will still experience the older GPT-3.5. It’s also powering Microsoft’s Bing chatbot (and the company revealed that it has been doing so for six weeks).

Microsoft’s head of consumer marketing Yusuf Mehdi said: ‘We are happy to confirm that the new Bing is running on GPT, customized for search.

‘If you’ve used the new Bing in preview at any time in the last six weeks, you’ve already had an early look at the power of OpenAI’s latest model.’

GPT 4 and company.

The company says that GPT-4 is being integrated into other products from companies such as Duolingo and Stripe. OpenAI said, ‘GPT and successor models have the potential to significantly influence society in both beneficial and harmful ways.

We are collaborating with external researchers to improve how we understand and assess potential impacts, as well as to build evaluations for dangerous capabilities that may emerge in future systems.’

The ability to accept images means that users can now prompt ChatGPT with screenshots and other media. Speaking this week at SXSW, OpenAI cofounder said that fears of AI tools taking people’s jobs were overblown – and that AI would free up humans to focus on important work.

Brockman said, ‘The most important thing is going to be these higher level skills — judgement, and knowing when to dig into the details.

‘I think that the real story here, in my mind, is amplification of what humans can do.’

According to analytics firm SimilarWeb, ChatGPT averaged 13 million users per day in January, making it the fastest-growing internet app of all time.

It took TikTok about nine months after its global launch to reach 100 million users, and Instagram more than two years.

OpenAI, a private company backed by Microsoft Corp, made ChatGPT available to the public for free in late November.

The new features of GPT-4

Visual prompts.

The big new feature here is that GPT-4 can respond to visual prompts – so for instance, it can reply to, “What’s funny about this picture?”

Longer prompts and responses.

GPT-4 can now accept prompts up to 25,000 words in length, and output text of a similar length.

It can learn your writing style.

GPT-4 is capable of learning a particular writing style, which makes it an ideal partner on creative projects.

Better exam results.

GPT-4 now places in the top 10% for exams such as the Uniform Bar Exam.

It’s better at getting its facts right

GPT-4 is 40% less likely to come up with factual errors – although it still does so – and is 82% less likely to come up with banned content.

It can interact with web links.

You can now ask GPT-4 to interact with content from web pages.

Good Day You!
