Baroque music in the Liepaja.

The admirers of baroque music will have a rare opportunity to enjoy a programme of baroque repertoire performed by the musicians of the Liepaja Symphony Amber Sound Orchestra at Liepaja’s recreation centre “Libava” on December 28 at 7PM.

Before the arrival of the New Year the musicians of the Liepaja Symphony Amber Sound Orchestra plan to please the admirers of baroque music with a complete concert programme “Baroque of the New Year’s Eve”.muzik

Violinist Liga Baltabola introduces the uplifting Christmas time opuses that have not lost their edge during the many centuries of existence:

“This time we have chosen popular, audience-favourite pieces like Vivaldi’s “Winter” from “The Four Seasons”, Pachelbel’s “Canon”.

Bach’s violin concerto to be performed alongside some less renowned opuses – Fasch’s concerto for trumpet, Vivaldi’s concerto for two trumpets and concerto for two French horns, two oboes, violin and a string orchestra.”

The textures of these baroque pieces often require exceptional virtuosic skills from the performers.

The music of this epoch is wonderfully subtle, with wonderful moments of effervescent joy, meditative contemplations and majestic nobleness.

The repertoire will require various ensemble setups and feature non-orthodox ensembles of soloists. “I believe that this evening will bring amazing and beautiful musical surprises,” says Liga Baltabola.

Tickets to the concert are available at all “Bilesu Paradize” box offices as well as one hour before the concert at the venue.
