Liepaja has a long history of summer festivals and this year is no exception. SUMMER SOUND of 2012 will be a two-day event with a wide variety of musical genres – rock, hip hop, electronica, ambient, pop and more.
Five stages will be located in the beach and park.
Five stages for five themes – the defining element of the festival sitting well not only with ‘party hard’ youngsters, but also families with children and middle-aged people.
It will also be a great chance to see legends, as well as rising stars, performing. Also, the already shining stars from Latvia and Baltic states, as well as new and exciting acts will perform.
The organizers of the festival haven’t revealed everything yet, as there will be surprises. However, the intention is to be an alternative option for happy people to have a good time and a lot of fun, rather than being the biggest or the loudest festival ever made.
Sure enough, the best part will be the music, but not only music. All kinds of fun stuff for kids or adults, who simply want to take a break from all the great music surrounding them. More about planned activities – closer to festival.
Festival location is Liepaja beach and park at the end of Kurmajas Prospekts, one of central streets of Liepaja.
The gates are opened on Friday, July 6 at 17:00 and will close on Sunday, July 8, at 06:00

Tickets for two days right now cost 16 LVL (about 22 EUR) each, or 18 LVL (about 25 EUR), if you’re going to stay in festival camping area.

There will be camping area in a park close to festival location where you can put up your tent and enjoy company of other party and music lovers.
You can buy ticket with camping access included, or you will be able to purchase separate camping area ticket on arrival.
HOW TO GET TO LIEPA-JA?
By car:
To reach Liepa-ja from Ri-ga, take Highway A9 – distance 220 km
To reach Liepa-ja from Klaipe-da, take Highway A11 – distance 100 km
By train:
From Ri-ga Railway Station take the Ri-ga-Liepa-ja transportation line to the Liepa-ja Station (two times a week)

From Ri-ga main bus terminal take buses that go via Kalnciems to the Liepa-ja Bus station.
By bus you can get to Liepa-ja also from Ventspils, Kuldi-ga, Klaipe-da, Palanga and Talsi.

Ri-ga – Liepa-ja 3-3,5 h
Klaipe-da – Liepa-ja 1,5-2 h
Palanga – Liepa-ja 1 h
