Runway model Carmen Orefays got in the Guinness Book of Records. 80 years old lady still wins over the fashion business.
She was 80 years old, and she still goes to the podium. Orefays Carmen defile on the podium in the year 2000, taking part in a fashion show by John Galliano for Christian Dior.
Carmen began her career at US Vogue in 1945 where she was on contract for $7.95 an hour. She even served as muse to Salvador Dali when she was just 13.
Today, at 80, she’s still working as a model–she walked at Alberta Ferretti’s Pitti Uomo show and Adrienne Vittadini’s Lincoln Center presentation earlier this year–and she’s living proof that beauty gets better with age.
In her 66 year career Carmen has graced the cover of Vogue six times, landed 14 cosmetics campaigns, and was photographed by the greats (Richard Avedon, Irving Penn, and Cecil Beaton to name a few).
Ms Dell’Orefice has been married three times and has one daughter…
This amazing woman was born in New York in 1931. She started to work as a model being very young (she wasn’t even 18), and she still walks the runway.
I admit, she looks great. Yes, she is a beautiful woman, not old body…
